This house was lovely. The views are incredible. We didn't want to leave!
It was a perfect house in a perfect location. We hope to return. Even though we were most respectful of the property, I did find that the home owners in the large gray house and the brown house to the right did not seem to like the idea of renters on the premisis. Specifically, the owner of the brown house practically ran my husband and me over with his silver Mercedes as we were walking off the property (via the driveway) towards Granite Pier. Quite an experience as we rarely strayed off our immediate rental site except to leave go to Rockport or Gloucester. Otherwise, while we often venture far from Boston, vacationing 40 minutes away from where we live was pretty idyllic! We should add that Atlantic Realty did a super job in terms of maintaining the property--I cannot emphasize that enough.
Dear Ruth, We are very happy that you so enjoyed Popples Cove except for the unfortunate incidents with neighbors. We have spoken with the owners of Popples Cove who are looking into it, but please know that this is the first time we at Atlantic Vacation Homes have recieved ANY complaints about the house or its environs. For this reason I tend to think that this are isolated incidents and I am sorry that it happened to you! We had just the loveliest vacation at Popples Cove in Rockport, MA! I can't say enough wonderful things about our beautiful rental home and also of Rockport. We stayed for 14 days, during the last 2 weeks of September. The setting of the home is exceptional, with the panoramic ocean views and its tranquil location and vistas. A mere 3/4 mile is downtown Rockport with its beaches (Back Beach and Front Beach) and the quaint downtown area with its variety of stores, art galleries, cafes, and restaurants.On the first day, as we arrived, we enjoyed a fantastic view of a regatta of sailboats, directly in front of the rental property! The property itself is very welcoming and homey. Its surrounding yard is replete with blooming shrubs and the various entrances to the house had large pots of colorful, flowering plants. Inside the house were beautiful potted mums of fall colors. Atlantic Vacation management left us a folder of helpful information about the house and the surrounding area. Claire from AVH called us to make sure everything was fine and to our liking and Susan, the property manager, came by a couple of days later, to answer any questions we may have. We even got to meet Harold, the owner of the property, who was most friendly and helpful. Our oceanfront rental was outstanding, with ocean views from every room in the house. The home itself was immaculate! I have to say the owners thought of everything for their guests, as the house was completely and perfectly equipped. The kitchen had Calphalon and Le Creuset pots and pans, and Henckels knives, which my cooking family loved! The bedsheets and towels were all top of the line. In addition, the furniture and decor were perfect for all of us.My husband, being an avid fisherman, was in 7th heaven, as he was able to surf fish off the rocks, right below the property. He was successful enough so that 2 of our dinners came directly from the "oceanfront yard!" As for me, reading a book while
It was a great location. Easy to get to town or head down into Gloucester. We loved watching the sun come up on the horizon, the lobstermen hauling their pots and the sailboats. We even saw whales blowing in the distance with our binoculars and a young bald eagle eating a sea bass on the rocks out in front of the house!

The Popples Cove home is a beautifully appointed, spotlessly maintained home with views that defy description. There is always a breeze and the grounds are full of blooming flowers. We could not have asked for a more welcoming home to spend 6 weeks of summer.
